About the Ssangyong & KGM Owners Club

This club was set up in May 2003, by our founder Magna. He was having difficulties locating parts and information for his beloved Ssangyong Musso. Quite rightly he thought that if he was having these difficulties then other people were probably having the same problems, and that an Internet accessible resource to share information and experiences with these vehicles would be a great asset.

Magna was correct, he was not the only one, the club has now grown to nearly 4000 members worldwide at the time of writing this article, and has become an Internationally renowned central repository of technical information and knowledge for Ssangyong vehicles.

As the club has grown the roles within it have become more clearly defined, with the appointment of a Head administrator and back up from a team of Moderators. All of these posts are filled by unpaid volunteers, continuing to promote and encourage growth of the club

The Aims and Objectives of the Ssangyong & KGM Owners club, are to promote and facilitate, the sharing of information relating to Ssangyong’s. This can be in the form of technical information, tips, experiences, and locating spares. In a friendly, social environment. The club is based in the UK, but accepts membership worldwide.

Membership is free, and no charge will be made for any information or advice given by any party. It is our policy to avoid commercial advertising wherever possible, but we may accept selected advertising ONLY from tried and trusted sources who we sincerely believe will provide a recommendable service to the membership at large.

Social gatherings will be promoted, to encourage a friendly and personal atmosphere within the club.

It is our intention to continue growing and remain the worldwide number one resource for information relating to the Ssangyong and KGM brand, to make lots of friends along the way and have fun whilst doing so.

Club History / events

May 2003 Club formed By Magna.

25th October 2003: The first club meet at Billing Aquadrome.

November 2003: Kasandrich took over as head administrator.

November 2003: new website launched.

August 2004: Norfolk Motor Group sponsors club

December 2004: Scenic elected Head Admin

December 2005 Andi elected Head Admin

October 2006 Korean Car Spares new club sponsor

December 2006 Boogyman elected as Head Admin

December 2007 Boogyman remains Head Admin with Walter accepting Role as Deputy Head

October 2008 WER-Parts became new club sponsor

December 2008 Walter became Head Admin with Brutus elected Deputy Head

December 2009 Brutus took over as Head Admin and ryanbsc elected as Deputy Head

May 2010 The Dutch Korando Club became part of the Ssangyong Owners Club

October 2010 Korean Car Spares became new club sponsor

December 2010 Brutus remains as Head Admin and Oliveau appointed as Deputy Head

October 2011 Korean Car Spares and WER-Parts became joined club sponsors

December 2011 Oliveau took over as Head Admin and Walter appointed as Deputy Head

October 2012 Korean Car Spares and WER-Parts continued the joined club sponsorship

November 2012 Walter became Head Admin and Goatmaster appointed as Deputy Head

November 2013 Walter remains as Head Admin and no Deputy Head is appointed
